ARGONAUTS REUNION ROW

Update : Due to the recent events around the world in relation to COVID-19 we have decided in the interests of public health and our members health to postpone this event. Stay safe, the Argonauts have always been a safe place and we look forward to welcoming you back to the club once it is safe to do so. Lookout for your selves and each other.

Can you believe the Argonauts have now been going for 19 years!! Wow! Seems like a good time to get the call out to all ARGOS past and present for a reunion-row.

At recent events we've had pleasure of catching up with new and former members - some of who we haven't seen in years. Everyone who is and who has been an Argonaut make up the fabric that is our community, and we're hoping to bring every one together for a reunion row, to provide an opportunity to see old friends, but also share a yarn about the origins of our beloved club.

This is a chance for everyone to get back into a boat, or cheer along from the bank, as we paddle around Albert Park Lake.

Our loose agenda is:

Meet at the Argonauts shed. Catch up, name tags, get into crews…you can even jump on an ergo for a quick refresh if you want ;)
11:00
Get on the water and have a splash and giggle or blow the cobwebs away…up to you and your crew.
12:00
Come back to land, get the boats washed and back on the racks
12:30
Lunch will be served at the other end of the lake in the APSM rowing clubrooms. A bar is available if you wish to celebrate with a drink, and non-alcoholic drinks of course are also available.

Pack up and lots of hugs goodbye with reunited friends

Cost: nothing – our earlier members supported the club to get it growing, and this is a thank you to them all.

So that we know how many boats are needed and whether you prefer sweep or sculling, and how many to cater for, please register at rowing@maqrc.org by 20th March, and please include the following:

Which years were you a member in the Argonauts?
Dietary requirements
Rowing? Yes or No (or spectating)
Type of rowing: Sweep or Scull or versatile

Feel free to attach any old photos you may have which we can print and display.

Even if you can’t come, it would be lovely to get a message from you which we will put up on a display wall along with any old photos.
