The Melbourne Argonauts is Australia’s first LGBTIQ+ rowing club and one of only a handful of independent LGBTIQ+ rowing clubs in the world.
We aim to create a friendly inclusive environment for those who want to row socially or competitively. We are a club where people meet, connect and grow in a nurturing and positive environment. We value diversity, fun, openness, inclusiveness and an active lifestyle.
We run two programs, Learn To Row and Return To Row, through out the year as a way to introduce you to rowing as a sport and to our club.
Learn more about our programs here.
Training (on & off-water) has resumed, with a COVIDSafe Plan implemented. Members must read the full details.
Our public events & programs (Learn-to-Row, Return-to-Row) are permitted to operate. Details and to register can be found here.
Sign-in via QR code is mandatory for all attendees to the club's facilities.
All members are encouraged to follow the restrictions and to download the COVIDSafe app.
Stay Safe. Stay Rowing.
our Partners & supporters
We are honoured that our patron is The Hon Michael Kirby AC CMG, former High Court judge and well-known human rights activist, LGBTIQ advocate and continued work with HIV/AIDS and the global right to health.
To show our pride for our patron in 2018 we named the new addition to our fleet, a Hudson Eight, after him.
