The Melbourne Argonauts are running a Women’s Learn-to-Row on beautiful Albert Park Lake on Sunday April 23rd.

This one-day “come & try” workshop will give you the basics of rowing. Led by experienced women coaches and assisted by members of the Argos Women’s Squad.

Your enrollment fee also allows you 4 weeks of trial membership in the club so you can continue to hone your skills at the Argos social rowing sessions on Monday nights and Saturday mornings, and at Women’s Squad on Sunday mornings.

Cost: $180. Price includes: full day of instruction on and off the water, a BBQ lunch and 4 week trial membership.

Rowing experience: No experience necessary*

Fitness: Rowing is a great way to get fit, but we find that for the best enjoyment a baseline of fitness/flexibility helps. You should be able to walk up a flight of stairs with a light bag of groceries without stopping. You should be able to touch your toes with your knees slightly bent.

Water Safety: While our boats are very safe and stable, any water sport involves a degree of risk. We generally do not wear life vests while rowing, so all participants will be asked to sign a statement attesting that they can swim 50m unaided (it doesn’t have to be fast or pretty).
