We all understand the importance of eating well and maintaining fitness while rowing, but even when we're not training it's still vital for our overall wellbeing to eat well and remain active.

Cooking your own meals and limiting takeaway not only helps with eating fresh and nutritional meals but it's also a creative outlet and could help you relax and fill in some time.

Support Services

Staying Home & Staying Safe are important and crucial but so is Staying Connected.

This time of disruption and separation can be, and is, difficult and we encourage anyone to reach out if they are in need of any assistance at all. The club committee is here for all our members. 

Keep in contact with your friends, family, work mates, anyone you feel safe with.

Q Life Switchboard

Provides anonymous and free LGBTI peer support and referral for people in Australia wanting to talk about sexuality, identity, gender, bodies, feelings or relationships.

Suicide Call Back Service

Nationwide service that provides professional 24/7 telephone and online counselling to people who are affected by suicide. 1300 659 467.

DHHS Mental Health

Collection of resources to look after your mental health during coronavirus pandemic. 


There isn't just one way to achieve wellness, it's a continued practice. Check in with yourself and be kind, some other activities could be :

  • Breathe - 1 minute a day of focused breathing. Try 10% happier or Calm 
  • Concentrate - this can make you happy and calm the nerves, set a timer for 25 mins in a day to do just one thing only (i.e. read) then have a 5 min break
  • Yoga or Pilates - Online or search on YouTube
  • Dance & Music - Bop around the house to some tunes. Checkout Spotify or Soundcloud  
  • Gratitude Journal - Three things your grateful for each day, note down before bed. Can be anything like the heat in your house, the friend who messaged that day, the bird that visited your window.
  • Learn - Watch a doco on ABC iView or do a short course on a topic your interested in (free ones on coursera.org) or visit your local library online for lots of free magazines and papers.
